The general objectives of the Tordesilhas Doctoral College in Languages, Societies and Cultures are: 

  1. to promote the training of new researchers in the field of Humanities with the aim of improving the quality of research in the area, bringing together resources and lines of research that have been developed in isolation at the different universities that are members of the WG; 
  2. to promote a CDT in Languages, Societies and Cultures between the universities that are signatories to this Agreement, which will help to achieve high standards in teaching, extension and research, shared by the different academic communities involved in the action; 
  3. promote cooperation and exchange in scientific research between the teams involved, as well as with other national and international HEIs, seeking to optimize resources and achieve critical mass and a context of intensive and relevant research; 
  4. to promote the mobility of doctoral students and professors between European and Brazilian universities, who can be incorporated into research teams at HEIs other than those of their origin; 
  5. socialize the knowledge produced at the CDT Languages, Societies and Cultures, using technologies that allow users and institutions greater access to this knowledge.

OBJECTIVES

  • Developing short-, medium- and long-term actions with the involvement of teachers and students from the Master's and Doctorate programs.
  • Ensure the integration of PPGs in order to form a network of solidarity and exchanges to mitigate regional asymmetries.
  • Establish partnerships in teaching activities (shared subjects, transit of bibliographic products) and extension (events, open seminars, publications).
  • Form networks of research groups on themes and interests common to the region (indigenous languages and literatures, cultural translation, intercultural education).
